The World's Still Flat ©

I hear the rain hittin' the roof like an honored guard drummin'
As the radio plays taps
My misspent youth brings a smile to my face
Everytime I think back
To everything I said, to everything I believed
To everyone I knew who'd admit to knowin' me
And the world's still flat to me

In my wayward mind I remember the words
To every pop song I knew
And the clothes I never had were always the fashion
To everyone that was cool
The wrestlin' shows, my favorite cartoons
Canseco and McGuire, and discoverin' the blues
And the world's still flat to me
And the world's still flat to me

Gobots with broken wheels, baseball in an empty field
Where houses are now
The trail through the woods, the girl I wanted to kiss
But did not know how

When life gets rough and my road isn't traveled
I reach back in time
And I hold my breath like I'm underwater
And dive into the thoughts of my mind
And everytime I think of bein' that kid
I'm glad I made it out as well as I did
And the world's still flat to me

I drove by the other day to see my old neighborhood again
Although I had to move on
I still remember when
And I still see you every once in a while
When I'm hidin' around corners
I'm hidin' a smile
And the world's still flat to me
